Teaching Apiary

Beginning the Teaching Apiary.

The original limestone gate stoops are too narrow for a modern day tractor to pass through into the hay meadow so they decided the site for the small teaching apiary and form the entrance.

Deep snow covering hives and blocking doors.

The teaching apiary faces south out across the hay meadow and is sheltered from the prevailing wind but not the snow we have had during the last couple of winters. We use various hives so new beekeepers can decide what they want to choose for their bees.
